Spring 2021 – Planting delays & toads
Toads are making a serious push this spring, and the trilling in the evening is overwhelming! A welcome sound for them after some harsh springs.
A little bit of a struggle here – spring planting was delayed completely as our regular suppliers lost their crops to pests. Fortunately, we’re a bit ahead of the game, and can play a little catchup in the fall.
So far no frosts, and no buds, so our existing trees are on track. Of course, it’s not May yet, so it could still snow in WNY! Lilacs are starting to leaf out, and it’s looking to be a nice cool few weeks here after a very mild winter.
Looking forward to summers out on the porch!
